The CCS boys basketball program continues to build on its long storied success with back-to-back TSSAA DII Elite 8 appearances in 2018 and 2019. A fast and intense pace on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball have been a long standing staple for the Chargers basketball program, elevating it to one of the best in the state year after year. The Chargers continue to compete at the highest level of high school boys basketball in the state of Tennessee.
Coach Wes Moore is a veteran head basketball coach with a reputation for rebuilding basketball programs and developing high basketball IQ and disciplined teams. Coach Moore, a four-year starting point guard, led the UTC men’s basketball team to the NCAA Tournament as their all-time leader in steals and assists. He is a member of the 2011 UTC Hall of Fame, a member of the 1996-1997 UTC team that made a Cinderella run to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament, and a CCS alumnus (class of ‘95).
Coach Moore is excited to take the reins at his alma mater. Wes and his wife, Leeann, have two children who attend CCS, Josie and Charlee. The Moore family attends Stuart Heights Baptist Church just outside of downtown Chattanooga.
