Exceptional Education (Ex Ed) at CCS provides comprehensive support for students across all grade levels—available in both the Lower School and Upper School. Through integrated classrooms, individualized intervention, and specialized therapy, students receive the care and instruction they need to thrive. For families seeking more comprehensive services, the Learning Center offers a dedicated, full-support environment.
Collaborative, Inclusive Learning
Our Exceptional Education professionals partner closely with faculty and staff to help teachers meet the diverse needs of every learner. We maintain high expectations for all students, ensuring that each child is both challenged and supported in their learning journey.
Each student’s service plan follows professional standards for accommodations and modifications, based on individualized testing and diagnosis. This personalized approach empowers students to grow academically, socially, and spiritually.
Partnership with HCDE & IDEA Compliance
CCS works collaboratively with the Hamilton County Department of Education (HCDE) to ensure every student receives an appropriate evaluation under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Child Find mandates.
Many of our students benefit from therapy services—including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and language therapy—provided through IDEA for parentally placed private school students.

Inclusive Opportunities for Every Learner
With the right support—whether through accommodations, assistive technology, or modifications—most students are able to participate fully with their same-age, typically developing peers in all school activities. When needed, alternate reading and math curricula are provided to ensure understanding and mastery.
CCS also offers alternate diploma tracks tailored to individual learning needs, ensuring every student can achieve meaningful success.
