  • Academic Program

The purpose of the academic program at Chattanooga Christian School is to equip each uniquely gifted student to lead and serve.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed around content standards, essential questions, and enduring understandings. Although all students begin our liberal arts high school program through taking the core curriculum, in recognition that each child has unique needs and abilities, we offer four pathways to a diploma: Humanities; Fine Arts; Math/Science/Technology; and Fitness, Health, and Sports. These pathways allow students to select particular courses and electives most suitable for the cultivation of their abilities and interests in preparation for Kingdom service.

Assessment

Formative and summative assessment is used throughout the year and helps measure student growth and the effectiveness of teaching. Tests, quizzes, projects, and writing pieces help teachers to evaluate student learning across content areas. Assessments are used to monitor progress, but they are also used to determine if instructional practices are working, and if students are learning what is being taught. Assessment practices also equip teachers with the necessary information to adjust instructional depth and pace. Standardized tests used include: the ACT, Aspire, and NWEA standardized tests.

Our goal is that our students would be equipped for the lifelong pursuit of truth as individuals in community, and that they would embrace the call to stewardship and service in all areas of creation and culture.

  • Accreditation

Growing in God's Truth

CCS is a place for students to grow as Lovers of God who seek Truth, serve others, and steward creation and culture.

In order that they might become Lovers of God, we invite students to embrace the gospel of Jesus Christ, to grow in godliness and wisdom, and to recognize the greatness and mercy of our Lord in every area of life. Our hope is that God’s redeeming love produces in each one a deep and abiding love for him that calls them to develop their distinctive abilities and gifts for his glory. We desire to equip each as they are able to seek Truth about God in his Word and his world, to serve others in recognition of their value as image-bearers, and to steward creation and culture toward full flourishing.
