CCS Girls Basketball Team Shines in State Quarterfinals
The Chattanooga Christian School (CCS) girls' basketball team had a remarkable season, advancing to the Elite 8 in the TSSAA Division II-AA State Quarterfinals. Competing in Class 2A, East Region, the team demonstrated resilience and skill throughout their impressive run. Under the leadership of Coach Laura Cottrell, CCS finished the season with a commendable 19-8 overall record and a 4-4 region record. Their determination was on full display in a historic Elite 8-clinching win over Harpeth Hall on Feb. 25, 2025. Trailing by 22 points, the Lady Chargers orchestrated an incredible comeback, rallying to secure the program’s first-ever DII-AA Elite 8 appearance—a milestone that sets a new standard for CCS basketball. In a fiercely contested matchup, CCS came up just short to Lipscomb Academy, with a final score of 65-60. Despite the loss, the team displayed exceptional talent and sportsmanship, making their school and community proud. With a solid foundation and strong leadership, CCS girls’ basketball looks forward to building on this success in the coming seasons. Their journey to the Elite 8 is a testament to their dedication and teamwork, and they will undoubtedly remain a formidable contender in future competitions.
