International Student Program

At Chattanooga Christian School, we strive for excellence in everything we do, so we have taken great care in designing our comprehensive International Student Program (ISP). Our program director's full-time job and passion is working with administration, faculty, and student leaders to ensure that each international student is fully integrated into the school community and thoroughly equipped and supported to achieve their goals.

Our Program

Recent international students have come to CCS from China, Italy, Spain, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Bahamas. We desire to offer international students the opportunity of a quality, college-prep education, from a biblical worldview, in the context of a Christian community. Our goal is to shape well-rounded students by offering rigorous academic challenge, social involvement, leadership opportunities, and involvement in music, the arts, and competitive sports.

CCS is a SEVIS approved school, licensed by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program to issue I-20 forms, which allows international students to obtain F-1 student Visas.

We offer classes specially designed for international students and for mainstreaming the students into our regular program in order to prepare them for their studies at American universities.

Our School

Chattanooga Christian School was founded in 1970 and is one of the most respected private Christian schools in Tennessee. CCS is characterized by high academic standards, a vibrant student culture, supportive and involved parents, and a beautiful 55-acre campus in an area surrounded by mountains, ridges, lakes, and the Tennessee River.

Our City

Chattanooga is located in the southeastern part of the United States, only two hours from the metropolitan cities of Atlanta, Georgia and Nashville, Tennessee. Chattanooga is home to 179,000 residents who enjoy its culture, natural beauty, and numerous outdoor sports and adventure opportunities. Our city is referred to as “the Scenic City” and “Gig City” and was voted “Best Town Ever” in the United States by Outside Magazine in 2015.

Global Ambassadors

These student hosts serve as points of contact with international students as the latter integrate into student life. Global Ambassadors assist during the International Student Orientation and initiate multicultural meetings and activities both on and off campus. Through the Global Ambassador program, students have a unique opportunity to enhance their leadership skills by growing in cultural awareness and cross-cultural communication.

Homestay Program

A vital feature to our International Student Program is the opportunity for students to live with an American family from the CCS community. Living with a CCS family will facilitate a much better learning environment and provide more focused social and emotional support for our international students. Orientation, cultural awareness training, and ongoing support will be provided to host families.

Immersion Camp

We believe students who travel and study abroad—even short term—develop empowering, lifelong skills as they build fluency in another language and gain global perspectives. At our Academic & Arts Immersion Camp, students experience a typical American school day while they gain confidence, form new friendships, and have lots of fun! Join us for in-depth language immersion through academics, arts, and sports.
